We start with one of Joe’s favorite annual rants.  Mark your calendars for this time next year as well…

Since the Milwaukee Bucks’ season ended, I think we’ve talked more about them than we did all last season.  The most recent development–our new owners hiring Jason Kidd to coach the team behind everyone else’s back–unfortunately overshadowed a nice draft for the team last week.  Time will tell if this is the first step back toward legitimacy for Wisconsin’s only NBA franchise, or the first stumble on the way out of town.

The Brewers looked silly flailing at pitches outside the strike zone up in Toronto on Tuesday afternoon, but they did post an 18-10 record in June, and ran their lead in the division up to 6.5 games by July 1.  What is it going to take to keep them entrenched in that top spot?

With the celebration of American Independence nigh, we leave you with this very American interlude.  Enjoy your long weekend…
