So the Brewers come into the last weekend of baseball’s regular season with a magic number of 2 to clinch the division and the playoffs. In order for them to blow it, they would literally have to lose the rest of their games. I’m going to have a nice weekend at the park, even if some of my colleagues want to continue chain-smoking and ripping their hair out. It’s been a great season! Lots of fun, and quite memorable, no matter what.
Meanwhile, I wonder aloud on the show whether any 2-0 team has ever felt more like 0-2 than the Packers. The pass defense is currently 32nd in the league, after giving up consecutive games of 400+ passing yards. Nick Collins is now down for the season (and hopefully not for his career), but the panel agrees that they should be able to make up some ground against a pedestrian aerial attack from Chicago.
We contemplate when the Christian Ponder Era will start in Twinkie-ville, and the least shocking revelation of the week: it would be very easy for the Indianapolis Colts to start 0-6.
