A Tale of Two Industries

Check out this story from the Christian Science Monitor that contrasts the issues facing the “Big Three” US automakers with the smaller (yet thriving) foreign-owned “import” plants in the South.  No doubt the cost of the workforce has been and continues to be a major financial issue for the US companies, and it will be interesting to see what sort of concessions the UAW is willing to make to help save their companies, and ultimately, their jobs.
