Lifehacker gleaned this one from the Chicago Tribune. The proposed idea is to cut service on Tuesday. Seems a little random, but makes some sense to not have consecutive days without service.
Personally, I feel like I could get by on 3 days of postal service per week. In this age, how much of the VITAL snail mail that we receive couldn’t be handled electronically if we really needed to? Private companies (UPS, FedEx) seem to have a better or at least equal handle on package delivery, so if this is a way to cut costs and maybe slow down the curve of postage hikes, I’m all for it.
